The adult world in which our young students will pursue their careers will be very different from the world of today, and that is what we must prepare them for. The difficulties we face as adults in schools today are that we have no idea what skill sets our students will require in 10 to 15 years. What should we prepare them for - As a result, we must ensure that kids receive a well-rounded education and acquire every talent necessary to not just make the world a better place, but also to enable them to do the best they can for themselves.This journey has shown me the diverse approaches to Teaching & Learning, as well as the cultural differences of our Learners, from the time I started my career at St Thomas' College in Dehradun to moving overseas and teaching and working with both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge Examinations, to moving back to Dehradun. During this time, I also worked as an Academic Coordinator at Kasiga School, and subsequently as the Head of International Curriculum at Genesis Global School in Noida, and then as the Principal of International Curriculum.Starting in the 2020-21 academic year, it will be a joy to return to my birthplace as Principal of The Doon Global School.I believe in student-centered education, in which teachers strive to guarantee that each kid achieves their full potential in all areas. Every child is born with specific traits and skills, which we should nurture and develop. It is the school that must adapt in response to the needs of the kids, not the other way around.
